Our cats are part of the Johansen family. The other members of our family are: Sissel (me), my two children Suzana and Therese, and our dog Maks. We're living north in Norway in the outskirts of Harstad.

Because I was raised on a little farm, and also have had pets all my life, I decided my children should also get the opportunity to get to know the pleasure of having pets, and at the same time learn how to care for, and take responsibility for animals in a good way. Our first purebreed cat came into our lives in 2003 when a bluepoint birman (N)Shan Thai's Elaine became part of our family. My beautiful childrenBut after I brought home my first sibirian, I was completely under their spell, and has been ever since. The girls enjoy their four legged friends intensly. Our cats are their friends and playmates - I think they know all the girls little secrets by now...

At the moment I am finsihing my masters degree in social anthropology at The University of Tromsø, which is quite demanding. Still I enjoy breeding and showing my cats, and its my favourite hobby. I am really proud to have the first sibirian in Norway to become Junior Winner in my cattery. She is also the first Swedish born sibirian to gain this title! Also my males Taiga and Teddy has done very well at shows, they are both BIS-winners.

I don't make money on my breeding, rather the opposite... As most other breeders, I make this effort because I think it is a interesting hobby, and an exiting challenge. I also meet many wonderful people trough showing and breeding my cats which I never would have met otherwise. After breeding birmans since 2005, I am now consentrating my breeding on sibirians only. My females will have kittens every now and then, and they will be availible for loving homes. The kittens are raised under foot, and are used to being handeled both by me and my children, and even our dog. They will be well sosialised before they leave for their new home. Some of our females live in fosterhomes. Cats are not packanimals, and we have to respect that. If they don't want to live as part of a group, we don't force them. Also this makes us availible to have a larger group of breeding animalt to work with in our breeding programme. Our fosterfamilies are all wonderful families, and their kittens too will be raised in the best way possible.

This is where we liveCats from my cattery will be loving family members, therefore health and temerament is important to me. I scan all my breeding animals against HCM, as reccomended in the Maine Coon HCM health program. My cats are usually scanned at Dyreklinikken Tromsø. By DVM Leif Rønning. Dr Rønning is a specialist in heart desease and ultrasound diagnostics, educated at St István University and European School of Advanced Veterinary Studies.

I am a Fifè-member, and of course I want my kittens to be as close to the Fifè standard as possible. My maine focus is siberians with good size and body, heavy boning, a nice round head and a great coat quality. I will not breed Neva Masquerade, only traditional colours.

Kittens from our cattery will not leave home before they are 12 weeks. They will be delivered with a health certificate, and a Fifè pedigrèe. They are also vaccinated.

We give our kittens the best possible start in life, and you are welcome to contact us if you are interested in our cats
